AGH art+music+food Festival
During my time as Festival Assistant / Coordinator for the Art Gallery of Hamilton art+music+food Festival, I supported both the Marketing and Programming teams in bringing the festival to life from behind the scenes and on the ground.
My role involved planning and executing parts of the festival marketing campaign, writing and scheduling social media content, updating the website, creating event listings, designing print materials, coordinating with artists, and helping promote events across Hamilton through community outreach. I also distributed postcards, posters and programs to local businesses and community spaces and kept track of outreach efforts to make sure everything stayed organized and on schedule.
On-site, I supported with wayfinding, guest experience, live social media coverage and photography. I documented festival moments across the art, music and food programming, capturing content that could be used for social media, marketing and future promotion. I helped tell the story of the festival in a way that felt engaging, welcoming and community-focused.
I also utilized systems to help keep everything running smoothly, including shared content calendars, task tracking boards, outreach lists and regular team check-ins. This helped manage a lot of moving parts while keeping deadlines, communication and follow-ups organized.
One of my biggest accomplishments was being someone the team could rely on to calmly juggle many different responsibilities at once. I was recognized for helping keep communications and operations flowing smoothly, supporting both the creative and logistical side of the festival, and allowing others on the team to stay focused on program delivery. My work showed strengths in project coordination, content creation, community engagement, photography and supporting large-scale arts events with care and attention to detail.
